Hutchinson has made a huge step forward with its new tyre, the Blackbird. Emerging from four years of research and development as Hutchinson's quickest tyre yet, it reduces rolling resistance by 10% while maintaining a class-leading lifespan of over 4,000 km, thanks to the new SwiftEasy casing design and the Mach Tread 3.0 compound.
The SwiftEasy casing enhances flexibility and reduces weight. The compound is a completely new formulation which, along with its low rolling resistance, features high rebound, providing a 25% increase in energy return when it comes into contact with the road. The tyre has been specifically designed for modern, wider rims, with a tread surface that is 15% wider than previous generation tyres.
